About
LibreWolf is a custom and independent version of Firefox with the primary goals of privacy, security and user freedom. It is designed to increase protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques and includes a few security improvements through privacy and security oriented settings and patches. The project also aims to remove telemetry, data collection and annoyances, and it disables anti-freedom features such as DRM.
LibreWolf includes no telemetry and no experiments, adware, or unnecessary distractions. It offers privacy-conscious search providers such as DuckDuckGo and Searx, and it comes with uBlock Origin included. The browser is hardened to maximize privacy without sacrificing usability, and it is always built from the latest Firefox stable source for up-to-date security, features and stability. The project is open source, and development can be followed on Codeberg and Matrix.
LibreWolf is a largely community-driven project. Merge requests, bug reports and feature requests are welcome in all its repositories, and the team encourages discussion and feedback through its Matrix room, r/librewolf and Lemmy. Installation options are listed for Windows, Linux distributions, macOS and OpenBSD, among others.
