About
LightCraft is a fast photo library and non-destructive raw developer, written from scratch in pure Rust. It has no account, no cloud, no telemetry, and no subscription, and it is free and open source. It is still in development. For Mac, it is available as a Universal disk image for both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
LightCraft uses a scene-referred, wide-gamut, 32-bit float pipeline, so your originals are never touched. Its controls include light, color, effects, a tone curve, an 8-band color mixer, 3-way color grading wheels, and 18 built-in presets. Masking tools include brush, linear and radial gradients, luminance and color ranges, and sky, subject, and background masks. Pure-Rust decoders support DNG, CR2, ARW, NEF, RAF (including X-Trans), RW2, PEF, and ORF raw files.
The library offers albums, ratings, flags, field search, and virtualized grids designed for big catalogs. The GPU develop pipeline updates a 24 MP raw in about 4 ms per slider move.
