About
Lightkey is professional DMX lighting control built exclusively for Mac. It can control up to 8192 DMX channels (16 full universes), and you can bring your own DMX interface, whether USB, Art-Net, sACN, or ESP-Net, thanks to the Open Lighting Architecture. Lightkey also controls Philips Hue bulbs, LED strips, and smart plugs alongside your DMX fixtures.
Lightkey is designed for lighting designers who want to focus on the show rather than on DMX values and channels. Advanced fixture profiles let it understand properties such as Color, Gobo, Shutter, Prism, and Zoom, and its live preview shows virtual light beams at each fixture's real-world position. Its effects engine offers 70+ effect templates and can synchronize effects to music. Beat sync works through MIDI Clock, Ableton Link, OS2L, or simply tapping the beat, and the Live Triggers feature lets you trigger cues from Ableton Live.
You can also use physical hardware: Lightkey integrates with any standard MIDI controller and DMX console (through DMX-In), and you can map its controls to build a custom show control desk. Everything sits in a single white-on-dark window that works in low light and full-screen mode, with large clickable areas for touch screens, multi-touch trackpad gestures, and extensive keyboard shortcuts.
