About
Little Snitch is a Mac app that requires macOS Sonoma or later. Its features include a Network Monitor, connection alerts, a Rules window, a traffic log, a command line tool for capturing traffic, and Automatic Profile Switching. The app's encryption key is stored in the keychain.
The nightly build 6.5.1 (7309) includes improvements to hostname detection. Little Snitch now accounts for a connection's port and protocol, handles HTTPS DNS records more accurately, and identifies the real hostname for more connections that use Encrypted Client Hello. When a hostname cannot be determined, the connection alert explains why. The release also reduces DNS traffic by no longer querying ipv4only.arpa every few seconds.
This build also includes bug fixes for crashes in the Rules window and Network Monitor, a possible command line tool crash, and increased disk and memory use of the traffic log on Apple silicon. It fixes issues with traffic history, network extension connections not appearing in the Network Monitor, and invisible agent alerts. If the app cannot read its encryption key from the keychain, it now keeps the previous data and offers to restore it or delete it.
