About
LocalInbox is a native Mac email app that works with Gmail, iCloud, and any IMAP account, including Yahoo Mail, Fastmail, Proton Mail, Zoho Mail, AOL Mail, and GMX. Its AI runs on your Mac, so no cloud ever reads your mail. Mail is sorted into categories such as Updates, Promotions, and To Reply, and messages that look like phishing get a warning. You can also ask questions in plain words, such as "How much is the Fernway invoice, and when is it due?", and LocalInbox answers from your own mail with numbered sources you can open. It can also pull amounts, due dates, and payments from the emails that sent them.
You can customize the look with 20 themes in light and dark, 11 accents, Glass, and layouts. LocalInbox is available as a free 7-day trial, and it costs $19 as a one-time payment, though the website notes the price is increasing soon. The trial needs no sign-up or card, and purchases come with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
LocalInbox is a Mac app today. The website says Outlook and Microsoft 365 support is coming soon. There is a waitlist for a phone version, and the developer will consider building a Windows version if enough people ask for one.
