LocalSend is a free, open source file sharing app for macOS, along with Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS. It transfers files directly over your local WiFi network, so your data never leaves that network and no internet connection is required. There is no cloud involved, no account or login, and no ads or trackers.

You can send photos, videos, documents, or text, and any file type is supported. Setup is zero configuration: install the app on your devices, select your files, and tap the nearby device to send. Transfers run at the maximum speed of your WiFi network, with no bandwidth limits.

All transfers are encrypted, and you can enable PIN verification for extra security. Files are saved to your Downloads folder by default, and you can change this location in the settings.
