Longplay

About

Longplay helps you rediscover, enjoy, and organise your album collection. It analyses your Apple Music library to show only albums where you've added most or all of the songs, presented on an artwork-first album wall that you can browse visually and sort and size in different ways.

Longplay is built for listening to albums from start to finish. Infinite Album Shuffle plays another album when one ends, and Album Purity Mode makes the next and previous buttons move between albums instead of tracks. You can create your own queues, rate songs to auto-skip lower-rated tracks, and use CarPlay. To find forgotten albums, you can sort by Negligence, which combines your rating with time since last played, sort by 'Addiction' for most-played, or sort by release year or date added. Search supports exclusion syntax, so 'beatles -white' finds all Beatles albums except The White Album.

You can organise albums with personal collections, such as road trip soundtracks or decades, or create Smart Collections with Shortcuts that update automatically based on criteria like genre, year, ratings, or percentage listened. Context-aware organisation hides albums that don't fit your current situation, and the app offers AI assistance and automation for deeper music exploration.
