About
M.A.C.E. (macOS Advanced Compliance Editor) is a native macOS app, built in Swift and SwiftUI, that simplifies creating, customizing, auditing, and managing compliance baselines based on NIST's macOS Security Compliance Project (mSCP) 2.0. It provides a visual interface for working with the mSCP rule library, so admins can build and export compliance configurations without using the command line, Python, Git, or hand-edited YAML files.
MACE offers dual build engines (a native MACE engine and the official mSCP Python scripts), an all-in-one workflow for creating, customizing, auditing, documenting, and exporting from a single app, and MDM-ready exports for platforms including Jamf, Workspace ONE, Intune, Iru, Fleet, and Addigy. It can also upload profiles, scripts, and extension attributes directly to Jamf Pro, Workspace ONE, Intune, Fleet, Iru, or Addigy. It requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and is free to use, installable via direct .dmg download, Homebrew, or Installomator.
MACE was built by a Mac admin for other Mac admins and is intended for admins who don't code, admins who need more than existing tools provide, and admins already using mSCP who want a simpler workflow. It is MIT-licensed and is positioned as a front end for mSCP rather than a replacement for it.
