About
MacPass is a free, open-source, KeePass-compatible password manager for macOS. It lets you open files in individual windows or use tabs in a single window. Files are saved constantly through autosave, and Undo/Redo works for everything you do with your data. You can move or copy entries and groups within a database or between two files, add file attachments by dropping them onto entries, and add entries by dragging URLs onto the database. QuickLook previews help you view your file attachments. MacPass can read and write both KDB Legacy and KDBX files, and it can convert between the two formats.
Autotype lets MacPass supply credentials for any text-based input, such as webforms or authentication dialogs in any application, and a global shortcut can invoke it from anywhere. MacPass includes a built-in password generator that you can adjust to meet restrictions. You can customize entries and groups with a range of icons, or have MacPass generate icons based on websites. You can set expiration dates for passwords, which are marked with a special icon and can be searched. If enabled, History stores changes to entries so you can restore an earlier state.
Changes made to your database outside of MacPass can be merged without losing data, and you can merge arbitrary files into a single database. Plugins can alter and extend MacPass's features, and Sparkle supports automatic updates. MacPass is licensed under the GPLv3, is built with other open-source software including TransformerKit, KeePassKit, KissXML, and Sparkle, and its source code is available on GitHub. It requires macOS 10.13 or later.
