Macro Recorder is a desktop automation tool for Windows and Mac that works like a tape recorder for your computer. Press Record, perform your actions, and press Stop. The built-in macro editor lets you review, edit, and enhance the recording, and Play repeats it as often as needed. The app requires no programming: tasks are performed through an easy-to-use interface rather than a proprietary scripting language.

Macro Recorder can also take screenshots and save them to files or send them to AI engines for analysis, extract on-screen text with OCR, scrape text from webpages, record browser actions, and read barcode and QR code data. It is also suited to automated software testing. Its click-targeting uses the visual context around each click instead of fixed X/Y coordinates, and it restores window positions and sizes during playback. Mouse movements between clicks are consolidated into single move actions, which makes editing easier.

Macro Recorder is available as a freeware download for Windows and Mac. When combined with the productivity solution PhraseExpress, macros can be organized in a tree structure, shared with other users on the network, and triggered by a hotkey or text shortcut.
