Mailplane lets you manage your Gmail, Calendar, and Contacts accounts in one Mac app instead of a browser window. It includes Apple-like keyboard shortcuts, and no separate set-up is required. Its notifier shows how many unread messages are in your inboxes from the menu bar and alerts you when new emails arrive. You can archive a message or write a quick reply directly from the notification. You can also search across all your Gmail accounts at once and jump quickly to a label, tab, account, or bookmark.

Mailplane also offers tools for annotating and marking up messages with annotations and shapes, and for writing across your Mac. It integrates with other macOS apps in various ways, and third-party extensions can be added with a single click. For teams, it supports shared mailboxes, shared labels, and a shared inbox with CRM features. It can also find email addresses and display contextual data about your Gmail contacts. The app is fully localized in English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, and Italian.

Mailplane has been around for years, and its developers continue to improve it. Mailplane 5 is in development and will bring a new engine built for both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Mailplane requires macOS 10.12 or higher.
