About
massCode is a free, open source, local-first developer workspace that works offline. It brings together code snippets organized in folders with tags, notes linked in a graph, task notes with status, priority, and due dates, and an HTTP client for running saved requests in sequences and inspecting test results. A Command Palette lets you find snippets, notes, and requests, switch spaces, or run commands from the keyboard.
The app also includes a built-in AI assistant that can edit code, organize notes, and work through HTTP workflows. You can connect your own API key for providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini, or use a local model through Ollama or LM Studio, and you can choose to preview changes first. massCode also offers developer tools such as side-by-side JSON comparison, encoders, converters, and generators, plus a Math Notebook for calculations with variables and unit and currency conversion.
Your workspace is stored as plain files: code, notes, and requests in Markdown, and drawings in Excalidraw. You can keep the vault on one computer or sync its folder using iCloud, Dropbox, Syncthing, or Git.
