About

MassReplaceIt is a find and replace utility for macOS that makes bulk file changes easy. You can search file contents or filenames to remove unwanted text from filenames, replace text throughout a website, number your files, and more. It can make changes across many files at once and perform multiple search actions in the same search. For advanced users, regular expressions and macros add flexibility, and you can filter the files you search based on file attributes or exclude files based on filter criteria.

You can save searches to repeat them later or use them as the basis for a future search with the same actions, files, or filters. You can also set a search as the default so it is ready when you open the app. Detailed search results and the ability to undo changes from previous searches are also included.

Before anything is changed, you can preview the changes and choose which individual changes, files, or entire folders to confirm. MassReplaceIt can track changes in recent searches so you can undo them later, provided you haven't made other changes to the files since. Version 4.0 adds Apple Silicon support, folder hierarchies in file lists, organized saved searches, new filter types, improved alias support, and a refreshed user interface. The app is free to use, with optional donations to support continued development.
