About
Mater is a minimal Pomodoro timer that lives in your macOS menu bar. As of version 3, it is macOS-only and written in Swift. Its menu bar icon counts down the minutes remaining, and you can configure work and break durations to suit your routine.
You can drag the time ruler in either direction while the timer is running to adjust the time. Keyboard shortcuts let you use the spacebar to play or pause and the escape key to dismiss. Sound effects for winding and button clicks are included, and they can be turned off. The sound effects are by snd.dev.
Mater can be installed with Homebrew using the jasonlong/tap tap, or manually by downloading the latest .zip from the Releases page, unzipping it, and dragging Mater to Applications. The project is released under the MIT license. The name is a Pixar reference, a play on 'Ta-mater without the ta'.
