About
MCP Beast: Local Gateway is a Mac app that lets you add your MCP servers once and connect every AI client, including Cursor, Claude, Codex, and ChatGPT, through a single stable local URL. Instead of configuring the same servers in each app, you point your clients at MCP Beast, which manages tool discovery, authentication, routing, retries, and result shaping for the downstream MCPs. Its compact dispatcher lets clients search, describe, and call only the tools they need, which keeps context smaller and reduces noise.
The app also covers safety and secrets. You can turn individual tools or whole groups on or off, and read/write routing hints help agents avoid accidental mutations. Authenticated MCPs, including OAuth-backed servers, can be connected from the Mac app, with sensitive headers, environment variables, and tokens stored in macOS Keychain. Explicit namespaces let you separate work, personal, or customer accounts, and redacted diagnostics and menu bar shortcuts help when something fails. MCP Beast is available on the Mac App Store for macOS 26 or later and keeps traffic local by default. Remote Access, a Pro feature, is available only when you explicitly enable it.
What's new
All release notesFinishing onboarding no longer depends on your AI app connecting. Improved • After MCP Beast writes and verifies the Codex or Claude configuration, or opens the Cursor install link, you can finish setup right away; the window still updates once the app connects Fixed • Onboarding no longer gets stuck on “Waiting for your app…” when an app such as Codex opens but never connects • Installing in another app no longer ends on a screen where Skip is the only choice
