MeetingRecorder is a free Mac menu-bar app that records meetings from Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or any app that plays sound on your Mac. It captures your microphone and your Mac's system audio. No bot joins the call, so nothing appears in the participant list.
Recordings, transcripts and summaries are saved in a folder you choose on your Mac. No account or sign-in is required, and recording works offline. Transcription and summaries are optional: when you click Transcribe, the audio is sent to a cloud transcription service and the transcript is saved back to your Mac. Summaries include action items.
The free plan includes unlimited local recording and 20 AI transcriptions and summaries a month. Pro costs $10 a month or $84 a year and removes the monthly limit. MeetingRecorder requires macOS 15 or later on an Apple Silicon Mac and is about 4.2 MB. Because no bot joins, recording consent is your responsibility, so get consent when the law or your organization requires it.
