About
MenuMeters for El Capitan (and later) is a port of the MenuMeters utility, originally created by Alex Harper, to OS X El Capitan 10.11 and later. The port began as a minimal modification to run on El Capitan and now includes many contributions from many people. Because Apple restricted System Preferences, it was changed from a preference pane into an independent app.
To install, download the app using the link for your macOS version (macOS 12 Monterey or later, or macOS 11 Big Sur or earlier), move it to a different location such as /Applications using the Finder, and launch it. The app should update itself automatically, and you can also check for updates from the Dock menu. To uninstall, move the app to the Trash. Users on Mojave 10.14 who have problems may try an older version, following the linked instructions.
