Meru

About

Meru is an open-source Gmail desktop app that brings your inbox out of browser tabs. It displays all your inboxes at once, so you can keep track of your accounts without switching between them. The free version is for personal use with a single account, and multiple accounts require the Pro version. Meru sends native system notifications when messages arrive, so you don't have to keep checking your inbox.

Meru also includes an unknown link confirmation step, which adds an extra verification before you open suspicious links in your emails. It automatically blocks ads and trackers, offering a Gmail experience with less noise and better privacy protection. According to the website, Meru only checks for new emails to send notifications, and it never accesses your emails or personal data.

Meru is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, and its code is publicly available for review. It is an independent application and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
