Middle adds middle click to your Mac, a small piece of missing functionality that the website says goes a long way. It works with any Apple trackpad or Magic Mouse on macOS 10.15 or later, on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. On a trackpad, you can click or tap with three fingers, tap with four fingers, or force touch with one finger. On a Magic Mouse, you can click with one finger in the center, click with two or three fingers, or tap with three fingers. You can also hold the fn key and click with any device.
The app is useful for everyday tasks such as opening links in new browser tabs. The website also mentions using it to pan in CAD software and to easily paste selected text in Terminal.
If you need more gestures or want to do more than middle click, the website points to Multitouch, which is listed as a separate app from the same developer. Middle is available to download free for 7 days, or you can purchase it.
