About
MIDITrail is a MIDI player with 3D visualization. It is available for macOS, iOS, and Windows, and its website offers English and Japanese versions. Recent releases added a new internal wavetable synthesizer with a new internal wavetable file, an Operation Panel, and a function that saves the selection state of repeat and folder playback. Color palette settings are also saved with new timing, and the Piano Roll view is mentioned in the release notes.
Several updates focus on fixes and compatibility. Recent versions addressed issues such as launch errors on macOS 27, note velocity not being reflected in the output sound when using the internal synthesizer, and crashes when loading MIDI files with no notes. The iOS version gained a Previous/Next file button, keyboard and mouse operation on the main screen, and support for newer iPhone and iPad models. The Windows 1.5.0 release added high-DPI support on the primary monitor only.
Support has changed over time. DLS files are no longer supported, and macOS 10.12 (Sierra) is no longer supported. Download links and release notes are provided on the project's download page.
