About
Mimestream is a Mac app designed for Gmail. It uses the Gmail API rather than a generic email protocol, and it connects directly to the Gmail API without an intermediary sync service. Your data and tokens are stored only on your device. The app requires macOS 12 Monterey or newer.
For managing your inbox, Mimestream offers Gmail inbox categories to separate non-essential messages from your Primary Inbox, full support for Gmail labels, and management of server-side Gmail filters. You can respond to calendar invitations without leaving the app, view your calendars alongside an invite, search with Gmail-backed search, filter the message list to unread or starred messages, and snooze messages to return later. Built-in tracking prevention blocks trackers from 75+ common services, and you can configure vacation responses within the app.
Mimestream also supports multiple Gmail accounts in one place, with separate profiles, a unified inbox or separate inboxes, custom notification schedules, and account colors. For writing, you can compose from any Gmail alias, use pre-written templates, send and archive in one step, and undo send. The app supports markdown formatting, code blocks, and in-text mentions. It is also integrated with macOS features such as keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, system notifications, the Dock, multiple windows, the menu bar, and sharing.
