About
Mirai is a Mac app built around the idea that AI should feel continuous rather than like a chatbox you wait on. The company argues that the next generation of AI products will depend on latency disappearing, and that today's apps force people to context-switch between many separate interfaces to finish a single task.
The app is designed to collapse that experience into one interface: a single instruction can span multiple services, and the assistant resolves the request in one interaction, privately, on your device. The site aims for execution speeds of around 1,000 tokens per second, which it describes as the point where models become interfaces.
To get there, Mirai's team describes building its own stack for Apple Silicon, including local models architected for memory-bound, batch-size-one execution, a hardware-aware inference engine, and quantization co-designed with those models. The application layer starts with automation on your Apple device.
