About
Mixxx is free, open-source DJ software for performing live mixes with digital music files. It suits new DJs working from a laptop as well as experienced turntablists. Its tools include BPM and musical key detection to help you find your next track in your library, and Sync Lock, which matches the tempo and beats of four songs for seamless mixing.
Mixxx supports DJ controller hardware with built-in mappings for hands-on control of its features. Its programmable mapping system lets you customize your workflow and add support for any MIDI or HID device. You can also add sound effects to tracks, chain multiple effects together, and use timecode vinyl records on turntables to control playback and scratch digital files. Vinyl passthrough mode lets you mix music vinyl into your set.
Mixxx is developed by an international community of volunteer DJs, programmers, and artists rather than a company. Because it is free and open source, anyone can contribute by reporting bugs, suggesting features, making controller mappings, fixing bugs, or helping with translations.
