About
Mockoon is a tool for creating mock APIs quickly, so teams can keep working when backends are unfinished or third-party services are unstable. It runs locally with zero account creation and no cloud dependencies, and it is open source. Developers can build mock REST endpoints with GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE operations, define dynamic JSON responses using templating helpers and Faker.js, and simulate complex scenarios such as errors, timeouts, and rate limits through rules that match headers, query parameters, body payloads, or cookies. Mockoon can also forward requests to real APIs, record that traffic, and generate mock routes from it, so teams can work offline. For automated testing, a lightweight CLI and official Docker image let mock servers run headlessly in CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions and GitLab CI. Mockoon Pro, currently in beta, adds self-hosted team collaboration, real-time synchronization of mocks, and remote deployments on your own infrastructure.
