About
Monolingual is a program for removing unnecessary language resources from macOS, reclaiming several hundred megabytes of disk space. It requires a Mac with Apple silicon and at least macOS 27.
Most people use their computer in only one human language, but macOS stores localization files for other languages that fill up the hard drive. Monolingual frees that space for more useful things, such as international mp3 files or email.
Older versions are available for earlier systems. Version 1.8.2 runs on macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) through macOS 10.15 (Catalina), and version 1.3.9 is the last release for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). The current version is 2.0.2.
