About
Mouseposé is a mouse cursor highlighting tool, also called a virtual laser pointer, designed for presenters, trainers, and teachers. It suits demonstrations at tradeshows, training sessions, and screencasts. When activated, it dims the screen and shines a spotlight on the area around the mouse pointer to guide the audience's attention. You can start it with a configurable hotkey, and the effect, including the size of the circle and the intensity of the dimming, can be customized. An animation draws the eye to the pointer when the effect starts and stops.
Mouseposé also makes keystrokes visible, so audiences can follow software and workflow demonstrations more easily. It visualizes mouse clicks by drawing a red circle around the pointer, with one, two, or three circles depending on the number of clicks. You can choose a sound to play on each click and pick different colors for left and right mouse clicks. The website cautions that keystrokes are visible to viewers, so they may also see passwords you type.
Version 4 adds support for full-screen mode and for PowerPoint and Keynote, and it was rewritten in Swift with a new icon. It runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1) and supports macOS 11 Big Sur. Mouseposé requires macOS Mojave (10.14) or newer, and a free trial is available for download.
