About
Music Remote is a remote app for Music on modern macOS that controls playback, volume, and playlists. It includes the basic controls for Apple Music, along with enough information and status indicators to stay glanceable. It stays out of your way until you need it, and you can keep it floating above your other windows.
To switch playlists, click the Playlists button above the playback button, select another playlist from your library, and press Play. When you listen to live audio, such as Apple Music Hits or Channel Q, Music Remote adapts its interface for streaming audio.
Music Remote is a 100% native app written in AppKit and Swift. Much of its interface is drawn in code with Core Graphics and Core Animation to keep details crisp on both Retina and non-Retina displays. It requires macOS Monterey or newer and Music.app, and it is a Universal Binary for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It is available in English, Spanish, Italian, Finnish, German, and Polish. Music Remote is also a tribute to the short-lived Music Player app included in the Mac OS X Public Beta.
