About
NAPS2 (Not Another PDF Scanner) is free and open source scanning software for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It works with scanners from brands including Canon, Brother, HP, Epson, and Fujitsu, and lets you save scans to PDF, TIFF, JPEG, or PNG with a single click. You can choose between WIA and TWAIN drivers, set options such as DPI, page size, and bit depth, and scan from a flatbed or automatic document feeder, including duplex support.
After scanning, you can drag and drop pages into any order, interleave pages for manual duplex scanning, rotate pages, automatically deskew them, and use image tools to crop or adjust brightness and contrast. NAPS2 can also apply optical character recognition (OCR) in over 100 languages so you can search the text in your PDFs, and its interface is available in more than 40 languages.
NAPS2 can share scanners on your local network and turn a scanner into a wireless scanner usable from a laptop or phone. For power users and businesses, it offers an optional command-line interface, the NAPS2.Sdk library for .NET developers, MSI installers with group policy (GPO) support, and portable archives that don't require installation. NAPS2 is completely free for individuals and businesses, with no ads or unwanted software.
