About
Network Weather scans your entire connection, finds the cause of problems like WiFi drops, slow speeds, frozen video calls, and VPN slowdowns, and tells you how to fix it in plain English. It shows where the problem is, whether that's your Mac, your WiFi, your router, your ISP, your VPN, or the service you're using, and gives specific steps for each finding. When the problem is your ISP, it gives you the right words for their support team. The app also connects to your router's API to read its firmware, configuration, connected devices, and WiFi channel congestion. It supports brands including UniFi, Eero, Google Nest, ASUS, TP-Link, Netgear, Linksys, MikroTik, and D-Link.
For security, Network Weather checks whether your router is past its manufacturer support date, flags known vulnerabilities (CVEs) in your router's firmware version, and audits exposures such as UPnP and WPS. It also checks whether your router still uses factory default admin passwords and prompts you to change them. For VPN users, it measures tunnel latency, checks split-tunnel configuration, and helps you choose or switch servers.
Network Weather is free and runs in the background, so you don't have to remember to open it before a call. Its Smart WiFi roaming feature moves your Mac to a stronger access point when the one you're using starts dropping. It is available for macOS 14 and later, and also for Windows 11.
