About
Nifty File Lists reads the details of your files, including names, dates, sizes, and photo, video, and audio metadata, and turns them into finished documents. It can produce paginated PDF manifests with a title, repeating column headers, and Page X of Y numbering, plus a provenance stamp recording the source folder, file count, column count, and generation date. For chain-of-custody or transfer verification, it can add MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, or SHA-512 checksum columns, so matching hashes show that files are unchanged. Output also includes CSV and TSV files that open cleanly in Excel and Numbers, aligned plain text, and HTML, Markdown, and JSON.
The app never truncates your data. If columns don't fit the page, it narrows them, then reduces the font, and only splits the table into sequential tables as a last resort, repeating identifying columns on each one. Empty columns are left out automatically, and you can choose columns, arrange them in any order, and save column sets for reuse.
Nifty File Lists runs on macOS 13 through 27 on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Your files and file lists never leave your Mac, with no cloud, no accounts, and no telemetry. A free trial is available, and the app is a one-time purchase for $19.95.
