Golden Gate Cache Cleaner (GGCC) is a general-purpose maintenance utility for macOS from Northern Softworks, offering a point-and-click interface to many macOS functions for both novice and expert users. Its GGCC Engine automates common maintenance tasks, including virus scanning of internet downloads and repairing permissions after software installations. For performance, GGCC can tune internet and file cache settings, implement RAM disks, clean out cached and stale data, recover disk space by removing language localization files and slimming Universal Binaries, and customize macOS features such as Spotlight, Dashboard, and Login Items.

GGCC also includes disaster planning tools, such as creating a bootable Installer USB drive from a macOS download and bootable Emergency Disks with system repair utilities and cache cleaning functions, available at the command prompt in Single User Mode. A portable version can run from a flash drive or iPod for registered users. For security, GGCC adds malware protection layers to macOS and includes the ClamAV antivirus engine to scan downloads on the fly. The app supports Apple Silicon, Intel, and PPC Macs, and requires macOS 10.4 through 27.2.
