About
Octarine is a Mac app for capturing, organizing, and writing in a fast Markdown workspace that keeps your files local and stays out of the way. Quick Capture lets you jot down a thought over any app, and the Inbox holds links, reminders, or rough ideas without requiring a folder. Open tasks can move from one day's Daily Desk into the next day's note.
When you write, you can drag a note, View, template, calendar note, or Inbox item into a split pane so your source stays visible beside your draft. You can link to a specific heading with a readable name, and Ask Octarine can edit a selected passage or work with the notes and folders you mention. You review every proposed change and can undo it.
As your workspace grows, Note Types let you set up fields for projects, books, tasks, or anything you repeat. Views let you filter, sort, and group the same notes by status, date, tag, or other properties, and you can save each arrangement. Search covers note titles and contents. Octarine stores your notes as plain Markdown, and its core features ship with the app rather than behind plugins or marketplaces.
