OmniWM Canary brings the Hyprland and Niri window management experience to macOS. It offers scrolling columns, BSP dwindle tiling, and a unified command palette that searches windows, menu items, clipboard history, OmniWM commands, applications, and files behind one hotkey. It also includes IPC/CLI automation and display-synced animations.
A built-in Ghostty quake terminal, rendered with libghostty, drops over any workspace with a single key and stays in place as layouts re-tile beneath it. The app adds a per-display workspace bar that docks beside the notch, scratchpad slots for floating tools, trackpad gesture support, and Menu Anywhere, which brings the frontmost app's menus to your pointer.
OmniWM Canary is available through Homebrew (brew install --cask omniwm), runs on macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later on Apple Silicon, is licensed under GPL-2.0, and is free.
