About
OpenAudible for Mac connects to your Audible account, downloads your entire library, and converts your books to MP3 or M4B, so you have audiobooks you own and can play anywhere. You can browse, search, and manage your collection from one app, and export it to Excel, CSV, or JSON, with cover art and a link back to each book. The app also includes a built-in audiobook player, and it can split and join books by chapter. Transcription runs entirely on your computer, so nothing is uploaded.
OpenAudible is free to try, and you can browse, download, and play your whole library at no cost. Conversion and splitting require a license, which is a one-time payment with no subscription. The app has been actively maintained since 2020 and works with every Audible region in several languages, including English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
OpenAudible also includes a password-protected web server that streams your library to a phone, tablet, or another computer, and an accessibility mode for blind and vision-impaired listeners. Help is available through an AI chat assistant or by email, where a real person responds.
