OpenClaw is an AI that the site says really does things: organizing your inbox, sending emails, managing your calendar, and checking you in for flights. You can control it from WhatsApp, Telegram, or any chat app you already use. It is open source, runs on your machine, and has no subscription, hosted tier, or token. The site says it is stewarded by an independent 501(c)(3). Your memories, skills, models, machines, and data are described as yours.
The Mac desktop app is a full app that installs everything for you, including the gateway, chat, setup, and node features. It requires macOS 15 or later and supports Apple Silicon or Intel through a Universal build. The site lists the current macOS version as v2026.10.9.
The apps and the one-liner installer both set up Node.js and everything else for you. You can switch update channels later with openclaw update --channel dev or openclaw update --channel stable.
