About
OpenDisk is a free, open source disk space viewer for macOS 14 or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It maps your whole drive as an interactive sunburst chart beside a Finder-style list, so the big folders are easy to spot. You can hover to see exact sizes, click to go deeper, and watch results fill in while the scan runs. Rescans reread only the folders that changed since the last scan.
When you find what you don't need, drag it into the Collector to see how much space you'll get back. You can then move everything to the Trash, so you can put it back, or delete it permanently. Developer caches from Xcode, npm, Homebrew and other tools are gathered in one place so you can clear them in one step. A search finds any file on the drive by name as you type.
OpenDisk works entirely on your Mac, with no telemetry and no account. The only network request is the update check. System folders, your home folder and your Library are protected from deletion. The code is on GitHub, builds are notarized by Apple, and updates are checked against an EdDSA signature before installing. OpenDisk is available as a direct download, from the Mac App Store (where Apple's sandbox limits it to the drives and folders you choose), or through Homebrew.
