OpenSCAD is a solid 3D CAD modeller for Mac. The stable release supports OS X 10.9 or newer and is provided as a 64-bit Intel dmg package. It can also be installed through MacPorts (`sudo port install openscad`) or Homebrew (`brew install openscad@snapshot`), and the site lists SHA-256 and SHA-512 checksums for the downloads.
For newer hardware, the development snapshot is a universal build that supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, and it requires macOS 11 "Big Sur" or newer. Release candidates, which include features planned for the next release and are intended for wider testing, are also available as a 64-bit Intel dmg package.
Users of the nightly builds can enable the new Manifold geometry engine in Preferences, which the site says gives a huge performance boost.
