About
OpenShot Video Editor is a free, open-source video editor designed to be easy to use and quick to learn, while still offering surprisingly powerful tools. It supports precision timeline editing across unlimited tracks, where you can trim and arrange video, audio, and images with snapping, waveforms, and frame-accurate controls. Creative tools include color grading with color wheels, curves, LUTs, and scopes; video effects such as lens flares, chroma key, and blur, with keyframe animation of position, scale, rotation, opacity, volume, and effect settings; and interactive video masks for selecting and refining a subject or region.
Beyond editing and color, OpenShot can turn music, voice, and sound into animated waveforms, spectrum bars, and radial audio visualizations. Version 4.0 and later also add the ability to record your screen, webcam, microphone, and system audio directly into a project, according to the site's release notes. The website describes OpenShot as having no subscriptions, watermarks, or project limits.
OpenShot is 100% free and open source. The site lists version 4.0.1 as the current download and highlights recent improvements to the Razor tool, faster color and animation editing, and Linux Snap support.
