About
OpenUsage is a native macOS menu bar app, built with Swift and SwiftUI, that tracks your AI limits across 11 providers, including Claude, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Grok, and OpenRouter. It shows the exact metrics and subscriptions you choose, what they cost today, yesterday, or over 30 days, and when you'll hit your limits. Pace markers and flame warnings signal when you're using too fast. You can pin up to two metrics per provider, turn providers and metrics on or off, reorder them, and track several Claude and Codex accounts side by side, with usage history synced over iCloud.
OpenUsage reads the credentials already on your Mac and hides your numbers while you share your screen. It also provides a local API and an openusage command, so your status line, editor, or agents can read your usage without tokens, authentication, or setup.
OpenUsage is free, open source, and released under the MIT License. It requires macOS 15 or later and can be installed with brew install --cask openusage. The project is on GitHub, where contributors can fix bugs or add providers.
