About
OpenWork is a free, open-source desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux that lets you do work with AI agents on your own files. It is built on OpenCode and presented as an open-source alternative to Claude Cowork and Codex. Its Chat, Library, and Automations features work on your own files, and no account is needed to start.
OpenWork works with any model OpenCode supports, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and local models across 50+ providers. You connect your own API keys. In desktop mode, your files stay on your machine, and prompts are sent directly to the LLM provider you choose. Scheduled tasks are available in Alpha.
The app is point-and-click and requires no terminal or setup guide. Teammates can share skills, MCP servers, plugins, and configs through a single link that others import in one click. The desktop app is free and open source, and the project is backed by Y Combinator.
