About
ossia score is a free, open-source, cross-platform intermedia sequencer for precise and flexible scripting of interactive scenarios. It can sequence various kinds of media on an intelligent timeline, including most audio formats with multichannel support and H.264 and HAP video playback. It can also send and receive OSC, MIDI, DMX, and HTTP, talk over a serial port, and control IoT systems with CoAP, MQTT, and BLE. It is designed to control and be controlled by any OSC-compliant software or hardware, such as Max/MSP, Pure Data, openFrameworks, and Processing.
The software is built for interactive shows. Any part of the score can be triggered by external conditions or hardware controls, and conditions can be used to create branching scores visually. Multiple programming languages are embedded in the software, including JavaScript for live coding within the score, Faust for audio processors, and simple math expressions for quick control. The software can also be extended through its C++ API.
Processes can be connected modularly directly from the timeline, and users can switch between the timeline and nodal view to edit them in more detail. It also supports state-machine-like scores for atemporal scenarios, and groups and nested items can be created without depth limit.
