About
Output Factory automates the repetitive output tasks in Adobe InDesign, including printing, exporting, preflighting, and more. Whether you need to output hundreds of documents or a single file, batch processing lets you output multiple InDesign documents and books with one click. Layer versioning outputs InDesign layers and their combinations as separate files, and variable file names can be built from page number, layers, date, and other attributes. Preflighting can use InDesign's own preflight or Output Factory's options, and files with errors can be skipped. Other features include smart output locations saved in dynamically created subfolders, custom AppleScript and JavaScript scripts, one-click output to multiple formats such as PDF, PostScript, EPS, IDML, HTML, EPUB, INDD, and TIFF, and a History that tracks documents, error logs, and output files.
Output Factory 3 adds the ability to combine output PDFs automatically, organize workflows in folders, and support cloud documents introduced in InDesign 2024. It also adds file name variables for paragraph and character styles and random numbers. It supports InDesign CS6 through 2027 and macOS 10.12 through 27, and a free 30-day trial is available.
