About
Packages is a Mac app for creating installation packages and distributions, whether you're shipping a software project or deploying a plugin across a network. You can define which applications, bundles, documents, or folders make up the payload, where they're installed, and what owner, group, or permissions they should have upon installation. Existing packages can be imported and added to a distribution. A WYSIWYG presentation editor lets you set and localize distribution panes and add Installer plugins. A visual dependencies editor helps you build simple or complex choice dependencies and checks for looping. Requirements editors offer simple options as well as a JavaScript code editor for more complex requirements. Quick Build creates a package when you drag an item onto the Packages icon in the Dock or Finder, using smart locators to determine the install location.
Packages can also sign flat packages and distributions with a certificate, helping ensure they aren't tampered with before installation. For automated production workflows, the packagesbuild command line tool lets you build Packages projects from Terminal, a shell script, or an Xcode Run Script Build phase.
Packages is listed as Freeware, version 1.2.11, with a file size of 8.8 MB, and requires OS X v10.9 or later.
