About
Packet Sender is a free, open-source network testing app for Mac, Windows, and Linux, with no ads or bundles. It can send and receive UDP, TCP, SSL, and DTLS on the ports you choose, in client or server mode, using ASCII or HEX data, with macros for defining any data. It also includes a built-in HTTP client for GET and POST requests, including tests with auth headers, and a command line tool for automation and scripting.
The app also offers Panel Generation, which lets you build single-button panels that trigger a series of commands for control systems, and Intense Traffic Generation, which floods a device at a set rate for stress-testing. It is designed to be easy to use while still providing enough features for power users.
Packet Sender is suited to uses such as test automation, testing network APIs, malware analysis with its built-in servers, testing network connectivity and firewalls by having two Packet Senders communicate, and security research such as sending SSL traffic and analyzing the traffic log. The full version is available as a free download.
