About
PairPods is a free, open-source Mac app that shares audio across two or more Bluetooth output devices at once, so you can enjoy movies and music together. It works with AirPods, Samsung Buds, Sony headphones, and any Bluetooth speaker that macOS supports. Per-device toggles let you choose which devices take part, and you can adjust each device's volume independently. If a device drops out, PairPods can automatically reconnect it.
From the menubar, you can see each device's sample rate and battery level, and choose which device acts as the master clock. Setup takes three steps: pair and connect your devices in macOS Bluetooth settings, customize the master device, volumes, and selected devices in PairPods, then press the Share Audio toggle. PairPods requires macOS 13.5 or later and can be installed with Homebrew (`brew install --cask pairpods`) or by direct download, and it runs from the menu bar without a Dock icon or main window.
PairPods doesn't collect personal data or usage information. Its only network connection is a periodic check for app updates. Bluetooth latency and synchronization vary by device, codec, and connection, so PairPods cannot guarantee perfectly synchronized playback, and devices with different sample rates may show slight pitch shifting.
