About
Nova is a full-featured editor and IDE built as a 100% Mac-native app with a super-efficient codebase. It covers editing, debugging, workflows, file transfers, Git, and publishing, all in one optimized workspace. It is built with native Mac frameworks for speed, low memory use, and battery life.
The editor includes features such as a minimap and multiple cursors. Nova also offers a debugging sidebar, console debugging, and breakpoints. Build, run, and clean tasks can be triggered from toolbar buttons or keyboard shortcuts, and live previews show your page changing as you edit. You can clone, initialize, fetch, pull, commit, and push with Git, and sign into GitLab or GitHub. File transfers let you browse, edit, manage, and publish files directly on remote servers. Nova also supports language servers, native Rust, Swift, and C/C++ code, and per-language editor settings.
Nova has an extensions API, and extensions are written in JavaScript. Extensions can add language support, extend the sidebar, add themes and syntax colors, and validate code. Nova includes built-in extension templates. Nova 14.1 is available as a free 30-day trial, and you can buy it to keep it forever. It requires macOS 15.6 or later.
