pap.er

About

pap.er is a wallpaper app for Mac, available since 2017. Its wallpapers are hand-picked by editors and come from photographers and designers around the world. Each wallpaper's download button includes a link to its source. Wallpapers can be changed with one click or on a schedule, and the app offers separate selections for 4K, 5K, and portrait displays. You can also add your own images to the wallpaper library by placing them in the pap.er storage folder and enabling "Import local wallpapers" in settings.

pap.er is free to use, and the developers plan to release a paid version with more features in the future. The current version, 5.x, requires macOS 11.0 or later and is distributed through the Mac App Store. The older 3.x version supports macOS 10.13 and later, but its wallpapers are not curated. pap.er does not currently support iOS, Android, or Windows, though these platforms are planned for the future.

Reviewers praise the app's high image quality, the taste of its curation, and how easy it is to change desktop and lock screen wallpapers. The developers also say they are open to working directly with photographers, designers, and brands, and invite submissions and suggestions by email.
