About
Paperpile is a reference manager that helps you find, collect, manage, and organize your papers in one place. Its feature areas cover finding and collecting sources, managing and organizing them, reading and annotating, citing and writing, and sharing and collaborating. Tools and integrations include a browser extension, a Word plugin, a Google Docs plugin, and support for BibTeX and LaTeX, along with mobile apps.
Paperpile's citation plugin for Microsoft Word is available for download on macOS, for both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, as well as on Windows. Paperpile signs in securely with your Google Account and connects to your Google Drive, but it only accesses files you upload via Paperpile. The site also says the service never accesses or stores your password.
Paperpile offers a 30-day free trial. The site notes that Paperpile for Safari and Firefox is in beta, and that sign-up is currently available only through Chrome.
