About
Paranoia File & Text Encryption lets you encrypt files and text using several strong algorithms, including AES (Rijndael) 256-bit, RC6 256-bit, Serpent 256-bit, Blowfish 448-bit, and Twofish 256-bit. The Pro Version adds Threefish 1024-bit, SHACAL-2 512-bit, and Paranoia C4 2048-bit. The app also offers steganography, which hides encrypted text or files inside JPEG images using either the classic F5 algorithm or the content-adaptive J-UNIWARD algorithm, which minimizes visual distortion and is harder to detect.
For sharing passwords, the app provides Secure Password Exchange (KEM), which uses post-quantum ML-KEM (NIST FIPS 203) to exchange encryption passwords with another party. According to the website, no password is ever transmitted directly; only encapsulated key material is exchanged. You can also use Encrypt as URL to encrypt files or text and generate a self-contained link that recipients can open in a web browser to recover the original data.
The application is based on the latest versions of S.S.E. File Encryptor for PC and Paranoia Text Encryption for PC. It is distributed as a PKG installer for macOS, alongside an MSI installer for Windows 10 (64-bit) or later and a DEB/RPM package for Linux.
