About
Passepartout is a VPN client for Apple platforms and the flagship client built with Partout. It supports OpenVPN (with an XOR patch) and WireGuard, along with on-demand rules, DNS and HTTP proxy overrides, and custom routing. It is also tailored for Apple TV, iCloud, and Shortcuts, has no background activities, and is described as wise on battery.
On Mac, Passepartout is available outside the App Store through GitHub Releases, for both Apple Silicon and Intel. It can also be installed with Homebrew using `brew install passepartout`. The standalone Mac version is currently limited to free features only. The site recommends verifying the GPG signatures with the developer's public key.
For help and discussion, the site suggests reading the Frequently Asked Questions first. Issues, suggestions, and conversations can go to GitHub discussions, and there is a community subreddit at /r/passepartout. Early, restricted versions are available through TestFlight.
